For over ten years, Disneynature has allowed us to get up close and personal with some of the world’s most beautiful species and their habitats through its captivating nature documentary movies.
It has now been revealed that a brand new movie called Dolphin Reef will be released via Disney’s new streaming service Disney+ on November 12, with Star Wars actress Natalie Portman narrating the tale.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie, directed by Keith Scholey, “centers on Echo, a young Pacific bottlenose dolphin who can’t quite decide if it’s time to grow up and take on new responsibilities. That is, until he can’t resist the many adventures the ocean has to offer.”
In a statement, Paul Baribault, vice president of Disneynature said: “Disneynature takes audiences to spectacular and remote places to share remarkable wildlife stories captured by our award-winning film crews.”
Dolphin Reef will be one of 500+ movies and 7,500+ TV episodes which will be available on Disney+ upon its launch in November. The streaming service will include everything from classic Disney films to new original programmes including The Mandalorian, High School Musical: The Series and the live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp.
Disney+ will also feature movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and National Geographic.
Disneynature’s latest offering, Penguins, is now playing in theatres.
